What’s the difference between High, Original, and Express quality in Google Photos?

It offers three storage settings with somewhat confusing labels.

The “High quality” setting allows you to download an unlimited number of photos and videos for free if they reach these limits.

If you upload videos in other high-quality formats, including the popular RAW form, they’ll count toward your Google One storage limits.

Edit images

Get started with Google Photos

Delete or restore your photos and videos

If backup and sync is enabled, photos and videos you deleted will stay in your recycle bin for 60 days before permanently deleted

Important

If you delete a photo or video saved in Google Photos, it will remain in your recycling bin for 60 days.
When you delete it from your Android device without backing it up, it will remain in your Trash for 60 days.
If you see a video or photo in Google Photos that you think you’ve deleted, it might be on a removable memory card.
Use the gallery app on your device to delete.
However, unsaved items (stored only locally on the device) are deleted after 30 days.

Get unlimited, original-quality, free storage for all photos and videos uploaded from Pixel 2 to Google Photos by January 16, 2021.
Photos and videos uploaded on or before this date will remain free in quality. ‘Origin.
After January 16, 2021, we will upload new pictures and videos in high quality for free.

Will Google Photos Remain Ever
